Pruning and Nesting

During the month of May we carry out green pruning at La Bodega, which consists of leaving a fixed number of stems (shoots) per vine, normally 2. The objective is to eliminate the excess "load" from the plant to improve the yield and quality of the grapes by increasing the useful surface area of sunlight and limiting the number of bunches per vine.

During the process, we find pleasant surprises such as bird nests. If there is a nest, the vine is not shredded so that the bird does not hate it. On average, we find about 5 nests every day, which we respect and protect.
